Seven ducklings swimming tight together in the middle of a lake with their mother nowhere in sight.
This was odd: seven ducklings tight together in the middle of a lake, without their mother.
I never saw her return, and they kept swimming forward.
They knew enough to stick together.
Imprinted. Vulnerable. Survival.
