A surprising double-flowered tulip with a bloom that looks more like a peony
We planted tulip bulbs last Autumn, before an arduous Winter, and we forgot what we planted and where. Then along came this brilliant bloom. But yes, it’s a tulip, what they call “double-flowered”! Who knew?!
We want to believe labels will do our bidding and make living things predictable, classifiable, controllable.
Nature teaches us differently.
And the unexpected can be brilliant.
