A tiny spider on a window
“The trick to forgetting the big picture is to look at everything close up.”
~ Chuck Palahniuk, from novel Lullaby
“Looking at the whole sweep of a situation, it’s easy to let it crush you.” While reading this in Ryan Holiday’s The Daily Stoic for June 19th, I stared out my window and a tiny spider caught my eye. He was resting on the glass. I could so easily miss him in the midst of the big picture view of trees, flowers, sky, and birds.
In fact, as far as the camera lens was concerned, he wasn’t there!
It took me over 20 attempts, from all angles and zooms, before I could make the lens see him!
If we’re lost in the big picture, details will be missed.
