Irised

June 14

The iridescent green feathers on the back of a hummingbird in flight
When I looked at this hummingbird, I saw the iris (yesterday’s photo). Maybe because of their shape?
Then I read what it means to be irised: to be made iridescent.
Iridescence: fine colours that change with the angle of view or illumination.
Hummingbirds are irised by light.
