Maple Flowers

2025:

Before the maple leaf unfolds, the tree flowers.
When we think of maple trees, we think of the classic leaf, autumn colours, and syrup.
But then light helped me see: sprays of Spring flowers and fruits.

2026:

Up close: a red maple bud.
Its fine fuzz (trichomes) catches the light.
From a distance,
the new leaves glow.
