On Seeing

November 29, 2025

A row of trees shining gold in the setting sunlight
November in Ontario: life contracts and turns grey.
I wondered if I’d be able to find daily inspiration.
And then the sun’s deepening slant turned everything golden,
and migrating birds traveled through,
and snow landed … then melted,
and a double rainbow arched overhead, and disappeared.
This is the month to witness.
Not just to look but to see,
before what comes, goes.
Impermanence, all around.
