On the Lily Pads

Lily pads at sunset are home to an entire community of insects at rest
As the sun set, they looked so quiet, frozen in time. Even the water appeared solid.
That’s why I took the photo, and then it told me a different story.
Dozens of little lives resting for the night.
Everything performing in delicate balance.
