Undaunted

April 23

2025:

Hepatica flowers in the forest
Small but mighty! If they could talk: “Ice storm? What ice storm?”
Forest flowers. Delicate yet undaunted.
(BTW – The camera lens captures what we fail to see: tiny hairs!
It’s their protection as they push through late Spring snow.)

2026:

Just popping up from "down under" to catch some Spring sun
After the ice come waves, and life emerges.
One small animal surfaces alone. Vulnerable yet undaunted.
(BTW – The camera lens wasn’t strong enough to help us see: is it an otter, a muskrat, a mink?
Like the flowers, they have protection as they push through late Spring ice.)
