According to the North American Indigenous tradition, the great blue heron brings messages of self-determination and self-reliance; an ability to progress and evolve.
The other day, one calmly stood in the middle of my road, just outside my house. An odd spot for a water bird.
After a particularly difficult month, that visit was magic.
