Wistful Gosling

June 1

A lone Canada goose gosling stares off into the distance, seemingly wistful
Is he/she wistful or nervous? It’s rare to see a little gosling alone like this, like they’ve lost their way. They imprint on Mom very quickly and follow her faithfully from that moment on, until they’re ready to follow their own path.
Either this little one will be lost, or bond with Mom even more–the strongest bonds result from overcoming the greatest obstacles. I’m not sure the same can be said for human families.
