Yellowtail

Butterflies are “between creatures” in many cultures: in this world but from another at the same time.
The year my father died was the year I started seeing yellow swallowtails everywhere and all around.
In Irish folklore, yellow butterflies are thought to be a sign that the souls of loved ones are resting peacefully. Others say it’s a sign a loved one is watching over you.
We may want to refute such beliefs, but maybe we’d be happier if we didn’t.
